Danielle & Anuj

Our Story
Website_TealBackground.png

Our Story

Danielle and Anuj met in February of 2019 at a tea shop on NE Alberta Street in Portland. Much to his distress, Anuj was 30 minutes late, stuck in traffic on the I-405 bridge. This gave Danielle time to overthink everything, and she changed tables four times before settling on one by the window. Nevertheless, they instantly connected.

Over the past five and a half years, Danielle and Anuj have created a life of shared joy and mutual admiration. Danielle's lifelong dedication to animal welfare has encouraged Anuj's growing appreciation for animals and nature. Indeed, they have fostered several litters of kittens together and developed a love for bird watching and kayaking. Meanwhile, Anuj has inspired Danielle's new love for Indian cooking, and she's always asking him to play his tabla. She will even entertain his lectures on data privacy.

In addition to everything they have built together, Danielle and Anuj have grown to love and cherish the families and communities that made them who they are today. That's why they want to share their special day with you!

Questions?

We've got you covered

What should I wear?

The wedding attire is festive semi-formal. Bright colors and bold prints are encouraged, so feel free to have fun!

I'm not Indian, is it okay for me to wear traditional Indian clothes?

Yes! All guests are welcome to wear Indian, Western, or Indo-Western attire. Keep in mind that sarees can be challenging to drape without experience, so a lehenga or salwar kameez may be an easier option when it comes to feminine wear.

Can I bring a plus one?

Unfortunately, due to budget and space limitations, we're unable to accommodate plus ones unless they are named on the invitation. That said, we have ensured that all of our guests will be seated with family, friends, and familiar faces!

Can I take photos?

You are welcome to take photos any time before the wedding and at the reception! During the ceremony, we invite you to enjoy the moment with us and tuck phones and cameras away. Our wonderful photographer, Yasmin, will be there to capture memories that we will gladly share with you.

Getting There

Travel & Lodging

GETTING TO PORTLAND

If you’re traveling to Portland by plane, please fly into Portland International Airport (PDX). From the airport, you can take a taxi, reserve a shuttle, or use a rideshare service to get to your hotel.

GETTING TO THE WEDDING

Oswego Hills Vineyard and Winery is located in West Linn, about a 25-minute drive from downtown Portland. Ample parking is available onsite in a gravel lot.

LODGING

For the easiest access to wedding events, we recommend staying in the Tigard area. If you prefer to be closer to Portland restaurants and activities, consider checking out accommodations in Nob Hill, Downtown, or on the east side in the Hawthorne District.

We have reserved a block of rooms at the Hampton Inn & Suites in Tigard that can be booked at a discounted rate. If you would like to book a stay there, please email Priti Shah at pritinshah@icloud.com by May 20, 2025 to receive the booking link and code.

Things to Do in Portland

Get Outside

Take a hike through Forest Park and choose your own adventure on more than 80 miles of recreational trails! Looking for a more curated experience? Visit the nearby Japanese Garden and International Rose Test Garden. If you find yourself on the east side of the river, check out Mt. Tabor Park for a beautiful view of the city or sit by the river at Cathedral Park in St. Johns.

Have a little extra time? Rent a car and head to Sauvie Island to visit one of many u-pick farms, then swing by Sauvie Island Beach to swim in the Columbia. Head’s up - the water will be chilly in June!

Shop

If it’s your first time in Portland, Powell’s City of Books on NW 11th is a must-stop. Also in the area is the Portland Saturday Market. Don’t let the name fool you, it’s open Sundays too! Finally, don’t miss checking out the local shops in the Alberta Arts District.

Eat!

One of the best things about Portland is the food! There are so many great options, but here are a few of our favorites:

Eem

XLB

Casa Zoraya

Ranch Pizza

Pambiche

Mirisata

Norah

Luc Lac

Dar Salam

Bye and Bye

Screen Door

Tin Shed

In the great Portland donut debate, Danielle is team Pip’s Donuts and Chai while Anuj reps Doe Donuts + Ice Cream. Try both and let us know your vote! (We both agree that Voodoo is overrated).
